Lynx Visits British Columbia Slope as Skiers Casually Cruise By

What's a lynx to do when it's not tall enough to ride the chair lift?

A rare visitor hit the fresh powder of Big White Ski Resort on March 11, sans skis, a helmet, or even a lift pass. Didn't really matter, as this local was just out for an afternoon stroll and to take in the lovely scenery.

James Ngo captured this cool footage of a lynx at Black Forest, which is a section of the ski hill located in Kelowna, British Columbia. Such a gorgeous animal and definitely an unexpected sight to see out on the slopes.

Wouldn't it be neat to be one of these skiers - casually cruising on by this majestic mammal?

Here's the video:

We love seeing these rare and magical moments. The glimpse might be fleeting but the memories are sure to last a lifetime.

Coincidentally, we just featured a story this week showing a moose speeding down a ski hill in Colorado. You'd think these animals are taking up a new sport all of a sudden.

Where's the most unusual place you've ever crossed paths with wildlife? We'd love to hear your stories.
