Lucky Shed Hunter Finds a Giant, 180-inch, 13-Point Deadhead Buck

This lucky shed hunter found the buck of a lifetime!

Spring is one of our favorite times of the year. There's the start of spring fishing, morel hunting, turkey season and of course, shed hunting. This is the time of year when we all hope to find the antlers of a giant buck.

The guy in this video does just that. This video chronicles part of his shed season. The video also features him first picking up a giant 6-point side.

That big, old shed would make anyone's day. However, the day gets even better when he locates the long-lost remains of the buck it belonged to, a 13-pointer scoring nearly 180 inches. This is the type of find that dreams are made of.

The joy and passion this guy has for shed antlers is simply infectious. It makes us want to get back out to the woods shed hunting as soon as possible. It just goes to show, you should never give up after a frustrating start to the season, because you never know what you may find on that next hike!

As much as it stinks to find a deadhead buck, finding one like this is a once-in-a-lifetime occurrence. Most hunters will never even see a buck of this caliber, much less shoot or find one. It's a shame the buck is dead, but we're glad he was able to find and salvage it for others to enjoy in the future. It's better than the animal never being found and remaining a mystery, that's for sure.

Also, that is some amazing luck to find one of the buck's old sides before finding the deer himself. Personally, that shed alone would have made the whole season for me. This guy should go out and buy some lottery tickets.

There is still time to get out there and burn some boot leather seeking out sheds this season. This is the time of year to take stock of what bucks made it through the season or not. We're re-energized to head out again after watching this and we'll be hitting the trails very soon!
