A former Little Rascals star has left civilized society behind and is now living off the grid in rural Arkansas. Former child star Bug Hall, who famously played Alfalfa in the film adaptation of the popular series, confirmed he's left the glamor of Hollywood behind.
Speaking with the Daily Mail, Hall says that he has quietly become a homesteader, living in a campervan with a well for water. The Little Rascals star took a vow of poverty, giving up all of the money he made as a child. He donated a lot of his material possessions as well. He explained that he wanted to "maintain a life as free of any need for an income as possible."
Hall, a self-labeled "radical Catholic extremist," says he now lives near Mountain Home, Arkansas. The former child star has five children with his wife Jill. The family lives in a campervan using a generator for power and a well for water. But the former Little Rascals star wants to build a fully off-the-grid home with a hydroelectric dam and independent plumbing and electrical.

"If there's a financial need that comes up, I'll go take some work or do an odd job, for cash to fulfill that need," he explained.
Right now, he says that he's homeschooling his kids and discourages them from going to traditional school or college when they get of age. He called it nonsense. The former child star also said, "I didn't want to go work some job that was basically meaningless, making widgets to entertain people or distract people."
In 2010, Hall was arrested for allegedly using inhalants. Now, 15 years sober, he called the arrest a wake-up call for him. He wanted to live a life free from "manipulation, of other people, in how I speak to them, in the stuff that I make or produce... including myself, as an addict."
