Lexus Named Official Vehicle of WeatherTech Laguna Seca

With all those pesky Mazdas out of the way, Lexus is ready to dominate the newly rebranded WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca road course.

Laguna Seca, one of America's most iconic road courses, recently announced Lexus as the official luxury vehicle at the track. In addition to the inherent advertising advantages in and around the track, Lexus will also be front and center during races with the high-powered GS F sedan acting as the track's pace car.

There will undoubtedly be a large cheering section for Lexus at the IMSA race this fall when the RC F GT3 takes on the 11-turn, 2.238-mile course.

"It was thrilling to see the Lexus RC F GT3 race around such an iconic circuit last fall and we look forward to returning to [Laguna Seca] once again in September. This new partnership enables Lexus to showcase the F performance brand and our commitment to motorsports through the Lexus Racing Experience activation onsite during the IMSA race weekend," said Mark Egger, Lexus Motorsports Manager.

While beneficial for Lexus, this move also proves to be extremely fitting for the automaker as Laguna Seca was the track where Toyota's luxury division was launched to dealers in 1989.

Laguna Seca was built in 1957, and it is the home to premier automotive and racing events. The track, of course, is best known for its numerous elevation changes including the famous corkscrew turn.
