Indiana Teen Finds Monsterous Nearly Foot-Tall Morel Mushroom

This monster morel is nearly a foot high.

Spring is here, and along with the spring fishing and turkey hunting comes morel season. One lucky Indiana teenager is likely to be the envy of morel hunters everywhere.

That's because 13-year-old Kayden Graber found the type of mushroom most people can only dream of. The Indiana DNR shared photos the monstrous 11-inch tall mushroom that Graber found near Linton in Greene County.

"He could feed a whole family with that thing!" the DNR's post reads in what is probably the understatement of the year.

The look on Graber's face says it all with this picture, doesn't it? This thing doesn't even look real compared to the size of the other mushrooms he has in his hands.

Every spring it seems a few of these super-sized mutant-looking morels are found across the U.S. This is one of the first we've seen here in 2017. The DNR didn't give any other details on where Graber found this mushroom. Of course, who could blame him if he wanted to keep the spot a secret?

Congrats on your find, Graber. And for the rest of you, if this doesn't pump you up for morel season, I don't know what will.
