Glock Accessories: Recommendations for Owners of the Iconic Firearms

Glocks are made to be upgraded, and there's a huge aftermarket for accessories and parts.

When it comes to customizing Glock handguns, there is such a massive aftermarket that it's actually possible to build a "Glock" pistol without using any actual Glock parts. This includes parts, and a whole lot of accessories.

Whether your Glock pistol is a full size version like the Glock 17 and Glock 22 sized models, a more compact Glock 19 or Glock 23, or even the newer Glock 43 X (either a Gen 4 or a Gen 5), there are a whole lot of add-ons and enhancements to choose from.

Reminder for Accessorizing All Glock Models

It should be noted that Glock, along with other gun manufacturers, do not recommend customizing their handguns, and many self defense experts say the same. They acknowledge that, other than ensuring the gun is safe to use, accessorizing doesn't matter much for competition guns or range toys. But when it comes to self defense, the reasoning against customization and extensive accessorizing is simple: the factory stock G19 from Glock has been exhaustively tested over many years in many conditions with the specific components included.

The moment someone changes out the trigger or the slide to one not made by Glock, a component from another company with its own standards and own testing criteria has been introduced, and essentially a new, untested firearm has been created.

Relying on it to protect your life is no longer recommended by experts, unless it has been extensively tested in its new configuration.

With that in mind, it's still fun and advantageous to add accessories to a Glock when they're needed. Check out these recommendations.

Magpul Glock PMag Magazines

These polymer-bodied 9mm magazines are sized for the Glock 19, Glock 17, and Glock 26 offering standard capacities as well as higher capacities. All mags feature a high visibility controlled-tilt follower, a stainless steel spring, a floorplate that's easy to remove for cleaning, a paint pen dot matrix for magazine marking, and a capacity indicator window.

Stick mags are offered in 21- and 27-round capacities, and soon drum magazines will be available with a 50-round capacity. One model will be designed for Glock handguns, and another for carbines that use Glock mags, like the Ruger PC Carbine.

Extended Slide Stop Lever

If you prefer to close your action using the slide stop lever instead of sling-shoting the slide, then an extended slide stop lever is a great upgrade. You can get this one made by Glock for less than $15 and install it yourself.

Truglo Tritium Night Sights

These sights offer unmatched visibility in low light shooting conditions or even complete darkness. In low light they show up as three glowing green dots and look like standard bright white dots in daylight. The sights are constructed of CNC-machined steel with a fortress finish coating for protection. The snag resistant design fits standard holster.

Lone Wolf Parts

This is sort of a like a one-stop shop for everything Glock. If you want a new extended, threaded barrel for your pistol so you can mount a compensator or suppressor, LW has you covered.

They sell parts kits, slides, frames, and even complete Glock-style handguns made completely from Lone Wolf parts. They even sell third-party Glock accessories, like .22LR conversion kits from Advantage Arms.

MCK Micro Conversion Kit

This kit, also known as the Micro Roni, converts a Glock pistol into a sort of carbine, with a folding stabilizing brace, a top optics rail that can accommodate  rifle-sized red dot optics and/or flip-up style AR sights, a weapon light, thumb rest, and more. If you're looking to maximize your Glock handgun's capabilities, the MCK is the way to go.

Zev Technologies Parts

Zev makes a host of high-end Glock upgrade parts including triggers, slides, barrels, frames, magazine basepads, sights, and pretty much all internal Glock parts, down to the smallest springs. If you want to build up a sleek, high quality Glock pistol, you might not have to go anywhere other than Zev.

Trijicon RMR Red Dot Optic for MOS Models

This red dot handgun sight is one of the most popular on the market, and it's particularly well suited to Glock MOS models with a slide milled for red dot optic baseplates.

The RMR has a patented housing shape designed to absorb impacts and divert stress away from the lens, enhancing durability. The RMR Type 2 LED and adjustable LED models offer upgraded electronics and the RMR Dual Illuminated models offer a battery-free alternative.

LaserMax Glock Guide Rod Laser Sight

These laser sights are actually built into a module that replaces a Glock's guide rod, preserving the accessory rail for a weapon light or other accessory. The unobtrusive laser sights are offered with a red laser or a green laser.
