He isn't kidding when he says a bird flying over the water can spook them. They are literally that sensitive to the slightest of changes to their environment.
To this day, I have spent an insane amount of time fly fishing for grass carp. I have yet to chase one on a kayak, but I have hot-footed it around many a pond in search of these fish. I can say without a question I have spooked way more than I have ever had an opportunity to catch. Drew is onto something with the frequency that he catches these fish. As far as I'm concerned, he is a Wizard of grass carp.
