Disneyland Releases Statement After 7 Employees Were Rushed To The Hospital

Disney is said to be the happiest place on Earth. While that is typically true, I doubt these seven employees were feeling very happy the other day. Seven Disneyland employees were rushed to the hospital after being exposed to an unknown odor.

SFGATE shared the news of what happened in the beloved theme park. This past Tuesday, seven Disneyland employees were hospitalized. The hospitalization came after the employees were exposed to an unknown odor in the park's Tomorrowland section.

The outlet shared that after exposure, the employees reported feeling dizzy and short of breath. When speaking to the outlet, Matt Sutter, a spokesperson for the Anaheim Police Department, shared a more precise location of the outbreak.

He shared that the unknown odor was detected in the Tomorrowland area of the park, " near the Star Tours ride." While the exact source and components of the odor have not been identified, Sutter admitted that the general source originated from.

He claimed that the odor was from "building contractor materials" and had wafted over from the "backstage area." The seven Disneyland employees who were exposed were taken to the hospital and treated for minor injuries. Afterward, that section of the park was closed for the hazmat incident. However, normal park operations later ensued, and Disney assured its guests that there was no threat to them.

Not The First Time Disney Has Been In The Hot Seat

Unfortunatley, this is not the first time the beloved theme park has been in the hot seat over a health issue. About a month ago, Disney World in Florida was also on the hot seat. However, it was not for an unknown odor. Instead, the incident there involved black mold.

Exposure to black mold can cause a myriad of health issues, so naturally, parkgoers were not thrilled to learn that they could have been exposed to black mold on one of the beloved rides. Disney has since cleaned up the mold in question, but they have yet to publicly address the incident.
