Dirty Window Causes Small Plane to Crash Killing Couple

A dirty window caused a fatal crash of a small plane that killed a couple in Texas. Both a Florida pilot and his wife sadly died during the plane crash. Somehow, their dog survived the fatal wreck.

The crash reportedly happened due to a dirty window on the plane. The tragic incident happened last Wednesday. Ron and Barbara Timmermans had been flying a Beechcraft A36. That's when they crashed into a power line near Brownsboro on Wednesday afternoon. The aircraft then crashed into the ground near a neighborhood.

Prior to the crash, the couple radioed that they were preparing for an emergency landing. The plane struck the power line as they were preparing to touch down. The emergency landing was due to a dirty window. "Oil covering the windshield" was the cause for the landing.

Sadly, both died in the crash. Somehow, their dog survived. Bystanders rescued the animal from the wreckage.

"The dog was alive, and so one of the neighbors took the dog to take care of," neighbor Mary Ann Shoulders told KLTV. "It was just loud, just mangling. You could hear the metal mangling and stuff."

"I saw the woman and I didn't recognize her because I thought it might be one of our neighbors, but I didn't recognize her," Shoulders also added.

The plane crashed into the ground with its tail pointed towards the sky. Ron had been an expert in flying and specialized in flight instruction. The two also owned an aviation business in Florida. Friends were shocked and devastated by their deaths. They said that the two would be "greatly missed."

"Ron was an important part of training hundreds of pilots over the years. He's done hundreds of hours of interviews with people in the aviation industry," the Florida Aviation Network told KVUE.
