Deer Crashes Wedding and Chows Down on Flowers

A wedding had an unusual wedding crasher. A wild deer appeared and began to chow down on the wedding flowers. It happened where else but Florida.

Estella Kirk and Gavin Guthrie tied the knot at Little Palm Island on August 1. Their wedding was interrupted by a Key deer named Rosy. The animal appeared halfway through the ceremony. The deer started eating a floral arrangement.

"At first, we had no idea what was going on because we were so focused on each other and the ceremony," Kirk says. "Apparently, Rosy the deer had made herself very comfortable and was absolutely going to town on our flower arrangements!"

The couple couldn't help but laugh.

"Once we realized what everyone was laughing about, we couldn't help but laugh too," Kirk says. "Our guests were trying their best to stay focused on the ceremony while watching Rosy eat her way through what were, unfortunately, some very expensive wedding flowers."

Kirk's grandfather tried to scare away the deer, but it kept chomping down on all of the flowers in the area.

"Rosy had decided our floral arrangements were the perfect wedding buffet, and she wanted to skip the ceremony and go straight to the wedding dinner!" she joked

But the deer decided to also join the happy couple for some photos as well. It even let the couple pet it.

"She hung around while we took all of our pictures and was so comfortable with us that she even let us pet her," Kirk tells PEOPLE. "She ended up staying until our very last picture, just as it started raining!"

The deer ended up being the highlight of the wedding.

"We spent so much time planning every detail of our wedding day, but we definitely never could have planned for a deer named Rosy to become one of our unexpected wedding guests," Kirk says. "Looking back, it made the day even more memorable, and we love that she'll forever be part of our wedding story!"
