A couple is very fortunate to find their lost wedding ring five years after dropping it in a lake. The two depended on a team of divers to help locate the lost piece of jewelry.
Five years ago, Chef Richard and his wife, Natalie, went to Windermere for a day out on the lake. The two had been married for 17 years.
"I've been coming to the lakes ever since I was a kid," Richard said during a recent episode of Lost and Found in the Lakes. "And then, obviously, when I met Nat, I kind of introduced her into that world."
"Nat said to me, 'Give me your ring. Pass me the ring to you so you don't lose it,' " he recalled. However, Natalie dropped the ring off her thumb. "It just slid off straight in the water."
"I've lost something that means the world to us, and it's hard, isn't it?" she said.

Freedivers Angus, Renée and Mike volunteered to help find the wedding ring after five years.
"I do feel sad, I do miss it ... It was a devastating day," Richard admitted. "Probably spent about three hours I did diving down, but the silt was being moved up, and we couldn't find it. So that was it then. It's a needle in the haystack, really, of finding it."
The divers also faced the issue of having litter in the lake as well.
"We're just trying to clear up what we can and then we can hopefully cover a lot of the bottom," a diver said.
Miraculously, using metal detectors, the divers managed to find the wedding ring after years. Natalie broke down in tears.
"It still fits after five years, so that's a good thing," Richard said. "That is literally unbelievable."
"That was a massive surprise," he added. "I've probably not been that shocked before. It's a bit worse for wear, but I think that tells the story... You think what's happened to that in the last five years. Fingers crossed now, it stays with us."
