A photographer encounters a huge cougar in the woods, and is stared down by the big cat.
After getting a few close-ups shots of the massive animal, the photographer freezes when the cougar senses him. The two lock eyes and have a staring contest before the cougar stalks back into the forest.

These are the kind of encounters that you have to count your lucky stars, in two separate ways.
For one, that person can claim a close up interaction with a truly wild animal, and their presence together will probably leave a lasting impression.
But secondly, that was extremely lucky because of the outcome: No one was seriously hurt.
Can't say that about every wildlife encounter.
