Cause Of Death Revealed For Couple Who Mysteriously Died In Their Campervan

Last October, tragedy struck a festival in England. A couple mysteriously passed away in their campervan together, leaving their four children orphans. Now, the cause of death has been revealed.

On October 12, Kayleigh and Christopher Coll died in their campervan on Pound Lane in Hampshire after the New Forest Cider Festival. According to The Metro, the couple passed away from carbon monoxide poisoning. A gas heater in the campervan was to blame for the couple's deaths. Still, Steve Mood, the Coroner's Court Officer, says more investigations are needed.

"This case was opened yesterday [Monday, Jan. 5] by the coroner and further investigations are now required before a full [investigation] takes place," said Mood. At the time, paramedics listed the couple's deaths as an "unexpected death" and "unexplained but not suspicious." The latest update is likely to give some comfort to the families and loved ones.

But it won't bring them back. Investigators will continue looking into the case on July 22. Following the campervan death of the couple, the family launched a GoFundMe for the couple's four children.

"The impact of their deaths has hit everyone around them extremely hard, but especially their four children, Shyla, Alex, Kaizer, and Emily, who they leave behind," GoFundMe organizer Laura Fox wrote. "Unfortunately, due to the loss of them both, the funeral costs on both families are huge, alongside trying to figure out arrangements for the children and sorting out their home," the page read.

The family garnered an outpouring of support. They raised more than $30,000 to help cover funeral costs and support the children during this difficult time.

"Chris and Kayleigh were much-loved by everyone who knew them," the family said in a statement, per the BBC. "Our priority now is to protect and support their children and allow our families the privacy and time we need to grieve."
