Catfish Bites Off More Than It Can Chew When Trying to Eat This Turtle

These anglers do their good deed for the day and save this big catfish from a sure death.

You would think a decent-size turtle would be safe from predators in a lake. Not so fast! This big flathead catfish had quite the appetite on this day, but his eyes were a little bigger than his stomach. You've probably heard the saying "don't bite off more than you can chew." Well, that statement doesn't ring more true than it does in this scenario.

These anglers pull up on some suspicious topwater movement to find a large catfish struggling to move with a turtle lodged in its jaws.

The catfish finally caught a bit of energy and away it went, but the turtle wasn't as lucky. Hopefully that fish can get back to full health.

This really makes you wonder how many turtles get eaten by flathead catfish each year. You never know what you'll see on the water!
