There are several safety issues involved with this method, but the bottom line is he nails some fish with this DIY setup.

It's unbelievable that this actually works. The scariest part would be the possibility of puncturing your own forearm with the projectile, but this guy seems to do it with ease.

A mid-size, closed-face reel is easy enough to get and strap to your arm with some velcro. But, I'm not sure it could hand fish much bigger than what he shot in this video.

It looked like the only reason he got out the wrist-rocket was to see how far he could actually launch it.
