Strawberries Are a Healthy, Sweet Treat for Your Dog

Strawberries are full of fiber and vitamin C. Yet when it comes to fruit, it should be given to dogs in moderation and that goes for strawberries too. We're so happy that research tells us dogs can eat strawberries! Even if it's just a few for a snack.

According to the American Kennel Club (AKC) strawberries contain an enzyme that can help whiten your dog's teeth as he or she eats them. Similar to most fruit though they contain sugar!

Too much fruit can cause loose stool or constipation, depending on the fiber content.

Can dogs eat strawberries?

Yes! Absolutely no canned fruit or strawberry syrup though. The fruit needs to be fresh from the fruit department or your garden.

The AKC says there are health benefits to feeding this fruit to your dogs. Strawberries are a healthy, low-calorie, sweet treat for your dog, full of antioxidants, high in fiber and vitamin C.

"By giving your dog strawberries, you are also helping him stay healthy in more ways than one. For example, over time, fresh fruit may help slow down the aging process, strengthen the immune system, and help with weight management. Strawberries can also help whiten your pup's teeth."

Just be sure to feed your dog fresh or unsweetened frozen strawberries,
