Breastfeeding Mother Gets A Ring Alert Of Movement Outside Her Door: What She Saw Shocked Her

Breastfeeding mothers understand the lack of sleep all too well, particularly in the early days. Therefore, it was nothing unusual for this woman to be awake and feeding her child at 3 AM. What was a bit strange, however, was that she got a Ring notification alerting her of movement outside her door. Naturally, as any concerned mother would, she went to investigate. She was not prepared for what she found.

NewsWeek shared details about Amya from Naples, Florida, and her surprise encounter. "I received a motion notification first from my front door," Amya told Ring. "I was nursing my daughter around 3 AM when I got it, so of course I had to check it." Upon checking the footage, she saw two bear cubs by her front door. Just as the shock wore off, she got another notification. This time, the alert told her there was movement outside her door of the back porch.

By the time she made it to the back of the house to check the two cubs, from the front were already there, including the rest of their family. "Five bears," Amya shared, "(assuming mama bear & 4 cubs) came into my screened-in back porch through the screen and dug through the trash."

A Surprising But Not Uncommon Occurance

Although I think anyone would be surprised to find a family of black bears on their back porch, this breastfeeding mother handled it well. Rather than being frightened, she simply seemed impressed that she got to witness the encounter. "We get wildlife sightings every day," she told the outlet. "Raccoons, deer, stray cats. We see bears on our Ring camera a few times a year."

Furthermore, NewsWeek shared that bear sightings in Florida are relatively common. This is especially true now that the cold winter days seem to be behind us. They shared that "Florida is home to around 4,000 black bears," and with warming weather approaching, they are becoming more bold in their search for food.
