Black Bear Hunting With A Predator Call: That's One Way To Do It

Black bear hunting with a predator call is one of the most effective ways to attract a big bruin.

If you happen to live in a thickly wooded area like western Washington, spot-and-stalk bear hunting is extremely difficult, and it's illegal to hunt bears over bait or to use hounds. So, hunting with a predator call is probably your best bet for getting a shot at a nice black bear.

Bears are omnivorous and won't hesitate to eat a deer if the opportunity presents itself. If you can convince a bear there's an easy meal for the taking in the form of an injured fawn, odds are, it'll come investigate.

That's exactly what happened for these hunters. Watch the video to see how it all went down!

And that my friends is a textbook example how to hunt a black bear with a predator call.

Their calling was convincing enough that the bear came right in to see what was going on. The wind was also in their favor, so even though the bear probably sensed something was up, hunger and curiosity overcame caution and the hunter got a shot before the bear decided to leave.

Nice work, guys!
