Field to Table Recipe: Bacon Wrapped Wild Turkey Bites

When you've got wild turkey meat on hand, sometimes it's a little difficult to come up with a good meal idea that everyone in your crew will enjoy. Then again, when you wrap things in bacon, you can't ever really go wrong, can you? Bacon wrapped turkey bites are one of those can't-miss recipe ideas that will go quickly if you serve them up to a crowd.

Bacon Wrapped Wild Turkey Bites Ingredients

  • 1 wild turkey breast, cut into 1 inch pieces
  • 1 pack center cut bacon, cut in half
  • 1 tablespoon loosely packed light brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • Ranch, for dipping

Bacon Wrapped Wild Turkey Bites Recipe Directions

1. Preheat your grill to high heat or your oven to 400°F. (If you are baking them in an oven, line a large baking sheet with parchment paper. Skip this step for grilling method.)

2. Place the cut turkey pieces into a medium sized bowl. Sprinkle the brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper over the top. Mix it together using a spoon until the spices are evenly distributed over the wild turkey pieces.

3. Wrap the bacon half around each of the seasoned turkey pieces. Secure it with a toothpick then place on the grill or parchment paper.

4. Bake or grill for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway. Check that the temperature has reached at least 165°F, then serve with ranch for dipping. Yield: 8 servings
