Wild Bear Crashes Live News Segment About a Bear Encounter

Talk about the strangest of coincidences. A wild bear recently crashed a live news segment about a bear encounter.

According to KTLA, reporter Erin Myers was filming outside a home in Monrovia. She was covering a story about a bear spotted in the neighborhood. That's when a bear appeared behind the reporter.

"And yes, we all see that bear up to the right side," anchor Megan Telles said during the broadcast. The encounter surprised the news crew. But they kept their composure.

Bear Appears on Camera During Broadcast For News

"You can see the bear actually walking into the trap — or no, it was going to, but now it's walking out," Myers said.

So is this the same bear from the previous? That indeed is the million-dollar question. Authorities are investigating whether it is the same animal. A woman in the neighborhood had been walking her dog when she encountered the animal. It took a swipe at her leg. She ended up suffering minor injuries from the animal.

Fortunately, she wasn't fatally mauled. Things could have been much worse. If it is indeed a different bear, then apparently the neighborhood has become a magnet for the species. Either way it makes for a surprising story. The animal wandered around the driveway and eventually went to the neighbor's yard.

Locals say that encounters in the neighborhood aren't uncommon. If you do see one of the animals then you should keep your distance from them and avoid confronting them.

"If you do see one, don't run, walk back slowly away from it," Myers relayed during the broadcast, and then added that it's her "second time" having a bear appear during one of her broadcasts, but noted that, similarly to the first time, both bears ultimately were unfazed by the cameras and news team.
