Mom of Late 'Deadliest Catch' Deckhand Shares An Important Wish After Son's Death

The mom of the late Deadliest Catch deckhand Todd Meadows is speaking out. She shares an important wish after her son's death. She doesn't want the show to air footage of his death.

Angela Meadows says the family doesn't "want to see any footage from the accident," TMZ reported.

She said, "We don't want to see any footage from the accident and do not want Discovery to air any of that footage or make money off of our son's death. We hope they only air good things of Todd on that boat."

However, she said she would love to have footage of him crabbing so they "have the videos for memories."

Meanwhile, Todd's sister, Mackenzie, mourned his loss.

"No words put together can even describe the pain we're going through and will continue to," Us Weekly reported. "His boys will see him through pictures, and we will see him through his boys."

The Coast Guard confirmed that they are "currently investigating this situation."

"As the nation's leading marine safety organization, the Coast Guard investigates marine casualties and accidents to uncover their causes and initiate necessary corrective actions," the statement read.

Captain Rick Shelford first broke the news of his passing. He shared that Meadows had passed away after a fishing accident while at sea.

"His love for fishing and his strong work ethic earned everyone's respect right away. His smile was contagious, and the sound of his laughter coming up the wheelhouse stairs or over the deck hailer is something we will carry with us always," Shelford shared. "Todd's love for his children, his family and his life was evident in everything he did. He worked hard, loved deeply and brought joy to those around him."

He concluded, "Todd will forever be part of this boat, this crew and this brotherhood. Though we lost him far too soon, his legacy will live on through his children and in every memory we carry of him. Rest easy brother, till we meet again."
