Hotel Guest Says He Went Through Every Fire Extinguisher to Stop Blaze

A hotel guest should probably get a free stay for life after he sprang into action to stop a fire from consuming the building. Speaking with Northern News Now, Bill Zezz says he was staying at the Superior & Sage Hotel.

That's when he noticed a fire broke out at the hotel.

"So, right away I said grab some fire extinguishers, so I grabbed it, pulled the pin, started spraying and started using the door as a shield. It was so hot, and then the fire extinguisher quit, so I got another one," said Zezza.

He quickly realized that he needed multiple fire extinguishers against the blaze.

Zezza said, "At first, it wasn't that bad, I mean I almost had it put out with a couple fire extinguishers, if I could've had more fire extinguishers, I could've had it put out."

Apparently, cardboard boxes in the building became kindling for the fire.

"They're remodeling this place and they're doing a great job, but they're piled up, I mean, both sides of the sidewalk had these cardboard boxes on them, and the flames were already ten feet high," said Zezza.

According to Zezza, the fire began to get more and more out of control.

Zezza said, "But it was so hot you could hardly get there, so I kept breaking the glass to get the fire extinguishers and then I pulled the alarm. I went through every fire extinguisher in the building, and I didn't see anybody running down the halls which was kind of funny, but I was running all over inside there."

Zezza was praised for his actions and quick thinking.

He said, "I'm amazed it ended up being this to tell you the honest truth, I think it should've never gotten to this point actually."
