If you are anything like me, then waterparks never really enticed you. I don't know what it was; I just always prefer an outdoor pool or the ocean. However, this US waterpark just may have changed my mind. Florida has always been a popular winter destination, but now that it houses one of the only US waterparks that is open year-round, it has become that much more awesome. The NY Post shared that the infamous US water park is called Captiva Landing, and is located at the South Seas resort on the Gulf Coast.

This waterpark recently opened on December 22, offering those who are tired of frigid temperatures a respite from the cold. Additionally, the outlet shared "Spanning just over 2.5 acres, the 'winter-proof' waterpark features heated freshwater pools, waterslides, sun-filled play spaces, and wind-protected lounging areas, as well as dining options." If the idea of diving into the water during the cold winter months does not sound appealing, have no fear, this waterpark has you covered.

The general manager of South Seas, Shawn Farrell, spoke to Southern Living about their aim to make the park desirable no matter the season. He said, "When we say 'winter-proof,' we mean families can truly leave winter behind the moment they arrive.

Not only is this waterpark open year-round, but it is an incredible sight as well. The Post shared that it "sits within the resort's landscape rather than an enclosed space," thus making it feel more spacious. Additionally, it was inspired by islands and island vibes, so it lacks that artificial theme park feeling. Furthermore, Farrell claimed that "Natural materials, island-inspired architecture, open sightlines, and a laidback pace all contribute to an experience that feels organic and unforced."

Honestly, that all sounds great, and getting away from these 30-something degree days has never sounded better. I could go for an island vibe, fun in the sun-filled day at one of the most epic US waterparks. How about you?
