5 Best Summer Moonshine Recipes

It's hot. You need these summer moonshine recipes to forget about the heat.

Moonshine recipes have really taken the Internet by storm the last few years. Of course, most of us realize that these recipes are not real moonshine. All it really comes down to is a lot of grain alcohol in mixed drinks stored in a jar that has the appearance of moonshine. Either way, they sure are fun to drink.

It seems most people only like to enjoy the smooth sippin' tastes of some of these drinks during the colder months. However, we are here to tell you, there are some great summer moonshine recipes as well.

Here they are in no particular order. For all these, they are best kept refrigerated. Use your best judgment.

1. Cherry Pie Moonshine

What tastes like summer more than fresh picked cherries? Well, maybe watermelon. We'll get to that in a minute. However, here's all you need to make some kickin' cherry moonshine.

  • 2-32 ounce jugs of cherry juice
  • 2 cans of tart cherry syrup
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1 full bottle of high proof Everclear
  • Mason jars to jar it

Withholding the Everclear, combine everything else in a large saucepan and heat until the sugar dissolves. Remove from the heat and allow to cool. Once at room temperature, add in the everclear and jar it up! Storing in a fridge would work out best.

2. Watermelon Moonshine

This moonshine recipe needs to be kept in the refrigerator and also best served cold. It also combines several different forms of booze.

  • 1 shot watermelon vodka
  • 1 shot Triple Sec
  • 1 shot malibu coconut rum
  • Pink lemonade
  • Ice

To get this recipe started, just simply pour all the shots in a mason jar, add in some ice, and fill the rest up with pink lemonade. There you go. That makes for a fun Friday night.

3. Lemon Blueberry Moonshine

This one just sounds like a winner. Just like the two you've seen so far, it's also pretty dang easy. All you need is a big stock pot and a desire to make something amazing with a touch of lemon juice.

  • 4 cups water
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 2 cups Everclear
  • 1 12 ounce tube of frozen lemonade
  • 2 cups blueberries
  • 1 12 ounce bottle of sparkling lemonade

Combine all of the above ingredients, except the Everclear, in a large stock pot and heat until the sugar is dissolved. Next, reduce the heat and bring back down to room temperature. Finally, add in the bottle of Everclear and serve. I wouldn't store this one in jars. Just drink it.

4. Rhubarb Moonshine

You either love rhubarb or you don't. If you don't, just move on down to the number five recipe right now. If you do, well, you are welcome. This is another one to serve ASAP and drink.

  • 2 stalks rhubarb
  • 2 strawberries
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 lime
  • Everclear

For this recipe, you need a martini shaker. Dice up the rhubarb, strawberries, and lime with the sugar in the bottom of the of shaker. Grind it up with a wooden spoon or any object that would work. Once ground, pour in two shots of Everclear and stir. Now, add in some ice, two more shots of moonshine, and shake. Finally, pour all this into glasses and wish yourself good luck.

5. Peach Moonshine

Fresh summertime peaches make for some great snacks. Pulling one of them right off a tree and biting into to all those warm juices can make a man's day. Do you know what will make a man's night? Spike the hell out of it and drink it on ice.

  • 2-64 ounce bottles white grape peach juice
  • 2-15 ounce cans sliced peaches in heavy syrup
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 6 cinnamon sticks
  • 1 bottle Everclear
  • 1 bottle peach schnapps

Just like all of the above, combine everything but the booze in a large pot and heat until the sugar is dissolved. Once cooled, bring it back to room temperature. From there, add in the everclear and the schnapps. At this point it just might be a good idea to use a cheesecloth to filter out the sediments when you pour this concoction into jars. Drink it right away, or store this in the fridge for a few weeks.

So what do you think? Which one of these summer moonshine recipes will you be drinking during this summertime heat? All of them are pretty easy to make and they will all knock you out if you aren't careful. Like all alcohol recipes, be responsible.

Better get to making these quick! Colder weather will be here before you know it.
