3 Young Mountain Lions Unexpectedly Visit Homeowner's Front Porch

Ever had three mountain lions show up on your front porch?

Living in the country has its perks. Most notably is the chance to encounter wildlife on a near daily basis. You just never know when a deer, turkey or racoon is going to show up in your backyard or at your bird feeder. It's one of the reasons we like being away from the big city.

Sometimes, we're fortunate enough to encounter wild animals that are rarely seen during the daylight hours. Such is the case with today's video. This family was surprised to look outside and see three young mountain lions in the yard.

If that wasn't cool enough, the three young cats come up to the front door and plop themselves down on the porch like an oversized house cat!

Well, it's safe to say that this is something you don't see every day. These mountain lions are still young in the video. Still, we were surprised they didn't try to make a play for one of those wild turkeys that can be seen standing in the driveway early in the video. Either they were still reliant on their mother for food, or they simply were not hungry at the time.

In the video's comments, the uploader, Drue Stafford clarified a little more about the incident, which happened in Preston, Idaho. He says there was no signs of the mother lion and the three young cats were eventually rescued by Idaho Fish and Wildlife.

"The sad part of the story is that one of the cubs had a bad reaction to the sedative and died," the comment reads. "The other two are now in North Carolina alive and well."

While that's unfortunate that one of these young lions died, we are glad to hear the others survived. This was an incredible, once-in-a-lifetime encounter and he was lucky to capture it on video to share with the world.
