2019 Chevrolet Silverado Trailboss Revealed at Centennial Event

Chevrolet celebrated 100 years of building trucks by giving us a first look at its next-generation truck, the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado.

In a surprise move, Chevrolet unveiled the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado at a consumer event held at the Texas Motor Speedway. Chevrolet says that new Silverado is "all new from the ground up," and it will offer "an expanded range of models, more engine/transmission combinations and more technology and convenience features."

Part of the expanded lineup includes the all-new Silverado Trailboss trim level, which was the truck revealed at the event. The highlight of this package is the Z71 off-road components and a factory two-inch lift not to mention the styling attributes like the meaty tires and the blacked-out grille and wheels.

The Trailboss will be just one of eight trim levels available on the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado, and this new styling is definitely a bold statement for the truck. This truck has some very shapely LED lights up front, and the body has extremely stylish body lines for a truck. The rear view is even better with "CHEVROLET" stamped into the tailgate, and GM's corner step rear bumper that now gets integrated exhaust outlets.

Aside from this new enthusiast trim level, the only actual detail revealed about the new Silverado was, fittingly, about the cargo bed. Chevrolet says that a higher-grade alloy is used in the roll-formed, steel bed floor resulting in a rugged, lightweight bed. We recently heard that GM is considering using carbon fiber beds on higher-end trim levels, but this announcement offered no confirmation.

Fortunately, we don't have long to learn more about the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado as this new truck will debut next month at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. Check out the video of the Silverado's soft unveiling, which includes a very exciting entrance.
