2018 BMW M5 to Debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show

Fresh off the Nurburgring track, the BMW M5 is set to premiere at this month's Frankfurt Motor Show to much fanfare.

The new BMW M5 is a heart throb multiplied by 10.

Under the hood, the BMW M5 is an all-wheel drive, powered by a 4.4-liter, M TwinPower Turbo V8 for 600 HP 0 to 60 time is 3.8 seconds with a top speed of 155 mph, with the optional M Driver's Package increasing it to 189 mph.

On the outside, the BMW M5 body has a very contoured front hood, carbon fiber roof, and aerodynamic mirrors. Also, its distinctive dual-kidney grill and high front bumpers give it plenty of ooomph.

Precisely-shaped wing mirrors contribute towards its wind resistance and aerodynamic features, along with a carbon-fiber roof that shifts weight off this monster for improved performance.

Its interior is equally impressive, decked out in sporty Merino leather sports seats. The dashboard is shaped like a quadrilateral, housing temperature dials, and air vents. High tech options include iDrive, a heads-up display, and Gesture Control, a new feature which uses your hand motion to control common tasks like answering a phone call.

Two steering wheel buttons allow you to pre-set two driving modes. Other optional features include an Ambient Air package to emit scents, Driving Assistant, night vision, and remote control parking.

On the actual ride, the BMW M5's driving modes are already the stuff of legend.

Set to 4WD, the BMW M5 offers an M Dynamic Mode (MDM) configuration that engages with 4WD to increase agility with more impact to the rear tires. Its all-wheel drive system is the M Drive, which distributes power to the rear axles.

Additionally, the engine suspension and steering can be adjusted with an extra button to modify the engine exhaust sound - pretty damn innovative.

Lastly, BMW promises to roll out 50 special edition models (400 worldwide), with a special red color in a package called the 'First Edition.'
