All you have to do is to be smarter than your equipment. While this particular auger looks suspiciously home-rigged, it may just be that it's seriously out of adjustment.

This video brings to mind my favorite Mark Twain quote: "A man who carries a cat by the tail learns something he can learn in no other way."

As soon as that thing got going you knew there would be trouble, but seeing him end up on the wrong end of that ice auger was painful!

Give him credit for trying, but that little gasoline powered steer was a handful. Maybe next time he should just let the thing run out of gas.
