Can you imagine fighting this California beast on 4-pound-test line?!

Not only was Jan. 29 Dennis Choi’s birthday, it also happened to be the date he landed the largemouth bass of a lifetime. The Rocklin native was fishing from the north shore of Lake Camanche for trout when he had one heck of a surprise on the end of his line.

The lucky angler was using Berkley Powerbait Power Eggs, baited on a tiny hook, and coupled with 4 pound test line. Surprisingly, his hook and line held while battling this beast, a fight which he captured on his GoPro Hat cam.

He officially weighed the lunker largemouth on the marina scales and released it after posing with it for a few quick snapshots,.
