The new Guardian robot has just found its niche. Watch what it can do to clean the ocean and fill your plate.

Colin Angle, co-founder of iRobot and maker of the world famous Roomba, was challenged to help create a robot that would clean up the ocean of invasives, particularly the lionfish. And that’s exactly what he did.

Introducing the Guardian, which can stun and capture invasive lionfish by the dozen. But there’s more…

Check out the video:

The makers of the Guardian are hoping that they can turn it into an online game where users can catch the invasive fish via a Smartphone app! The Guardian stuns the fish with a dose of electric current and can then suck them up, sometimes as many as 10 at a time.

With outlets like Whole Foods selling the delicious, but invasive fish to consumers the market for all the caught fish is a good one. If you could catch fish from your Smartphone would you do it? Well, where do we sign up?!
