This archery hunter breaks the number one rule of treestand safety: always wear a safety belt.
This guy was practicing shooting his bow from a treestand when he takes a nasty drop.
Watch this video and see why accidents happen fast without a safety belt.
Rule number one in treestand safety is to wear a safety belt. This guy did not.
While practicing with his bow, this hunter fails to secure himself to the pole by a safety belt. Pulling back on the bow is enough leverage to cause the climbing treestand base to lose grip on the telephone pole he was using as his practice tree. Down he goes.
While it appears this hunter’s fall did not cause any major injury, it is indeed scary.
This video highlights the danger that all of us treestand hunters face when up high. Wear a safety belt or safety harness and avoid the fall.
