Fire up the grill for this tasty bacon wrapped venison backstrap recipe.
Venison backstrap is good enough as it is, but if you wrap the whole thing in bacon, then you take things to a whole new level of awesome.
In the video below Malcom Reed from How To BBQ Right shares his tips on how to prepare your backstrap correctly.
Here are your recipe and ingredients:
- 1/2 cup Soy Sauce
- 1/4 cup Molasses
- 1/4 cup Rice Vinegar
- 2 TBPS Brown Sugar
- 2 TBPS Honey
- 4 gloves minced Garlic
- 1 TBPS minced Ginger Root
- 2 TBPS Sesame Oil
- 1 TBPS Sesame Seed
- 3 Green Onions finely chopped
- 1 Jalapeno Pepper – finely diced
Instructions are as follows:
Combine the above ingredients in a bowl, and heat for 2 minutes in microwave. Stir and heat for another 1-2 minutes.
Put the backstops on the grill that you have set for 275 degrees and apply the glaze once they hit an internal temp of 125. Keep cooking them until they hit an internal temp of 130. Remove the meat from the grill and let them rest for 10 minutes.
Feel free to use this recipe with beef or pork loin as well. A few minor adjustments to temperature may be needed.
