Parked at a beach house somewhere is a 1965 Jeep Wagoneer like no other. Literally. There are no other Wagoneers that have been restored as meticulously as this one.
Sure, it started life as a utilitarian 1965 Jeep Wagoneer, but then, 53 years later, Icon 4x4 bought it off Craigslist and worked Icon magic on it.
If you haven't heard of Icon, check 'em out. They take trucks, Jeeps, and SUVs from the '60s and '70s and turn them into works of art that can sell for as much as $200,000.

Icon's Jonathan Ward runs down the very long list of upgrades the company did to this Wagoneer from the custom-built chassis to the CNC, one-off switches for lights and wipers. In the video, Ward expresses several times his disdain for plastic and to what lengths Icon goes to rid plastic from its cars.
Take, for example, the chromed plastic frame around the instrument panel gauges. Ward says they CNCed a replacement for that panel, but after it was installed, he had to tap on it to be sure it wasn't the original plastic piece.
Icon also made molds to cast new parts to re-make the steering wheel. The end result looks stock, but is much sturdier and much higher quality.
But the Icon Wagoneer isn't all show. No, there's go, too. Beneath the hood is a "lovely" 400-hp LS3 and so many fancy suspension parts we're not even gonna try to name them here.
Just watch the video and ooh and aaah as much as we did over the level of detail that went into this SUV.
