Woman Arrested for Performing Veterinary Procedures Without a License And Sharing Them to Social Media

Authorities have arrested a woman in California for allegedly performing veterinary procedures without a license. She allegedly shared videos of the procedures on social media.

They've slapped her with animal cruelty charges. According to a news release, the Visalia Police Department arrested 24-year-old Amanahy Becerra. They've charged her with allegedly performing procedures on animals without training. These animals allegedly suffered serious complications with one animal dying.

"Detectives also determined that proper anesthesia was not used, leaving animals to endure intense and unnecessary pain," police said. "As a result, multiple animals suffered serious complications and required emergency veterinary care. Sadly, one dog did not survive."

The arrest comes after several accused the woman of "performing medical procedures on animals without proper qualifications or training." Further investigation found videos online of Becerra allegedly performing these procedures. They included C-sections as well as spaying and neutering. One alleged video showed Becerra performing an ear-clipping on a dog.

Not Licensed for Veterinary Procedures

Beyond just procedures, Police spokesperson Liz Jones told ABC 30 that Becerra also allegedly gave vaccines to animals as well. According to Jones, Becerra enticed customers by offering discounted rates. However, she allegedly lied about her veterinary experience and told customers that she was licensed to do the procedures.

"She was claiming to be licensed but she was not certified. She was not licensed at all," Jones said. "The situation is very heartbreaking. I mean, dogs and pets are our families. They expect us to take care of them."

Following the investigation, authorities issued a felony warrant for her arrest and booked her into the Tulare County Adult Pre-Trial Detention Facility. They've asked anyone with more info to come forward. A combined sweep of her social media and residence is also being performed.

"It'll help us tremendously. I mean, it's physical evidence, it's video evidence, it's there on what she was performing illegally," Jones said.
