Wild Turkey Mating Caught on Camera

If you've ever wondered what wild turkey mating looks like, then you need to watch this video.

Most species of North American big game like deer, elk, and moose mate in the fall. However, turkey (and black bear) are somewhat unusual; they mate in the spring. In each case though, some of the best hunting for those species of game coincides with the mating season.

Not surprisingly, it's much easier to attract a big male turkey (or deer, elk, moose, etc.) that has love on the brain. With all that said, while it's not unusual to run across videos of deer or elk mating, there aren't too many videos out there of wild turkey mating.

However, these guys in Canada managed to capture some pretty cool footage of the whole wild turkey mating ritual. Watch the video below to see how it all goes down.

Pretty interesting right?

They captured that video using a trail camera set up in an area in Ontario where turkey liked to hang out.

Aside from catching a glimpse into a rarely seen side of turkey life, it also looks like they found a great turkey hunting spot!
