Raccoon gets double rescue in New Jersey.
A raccoon in New Jersey found itself in the unusual position of being rescued from two different predicaments earlier this week.
Not only had the fur ball gotten his head stuck inside a peanut butter jar, it was also perched at the top of a telephone pole! Fortunately someone noticed the raccoon's odd predicament in Greenwich Township and called in for a rescue to the utility company, Atlantic City Electric.
No details on exactly how they managed to do it without getting clawed to death, but electric company employees eventually got the rodent off the top of the pole.
They also managed to remove the jar from its head and return it to the wild.
Sometimes raccoons seem like the smartest animals on earth, and other times they seem like the dumbest. This one falls into the latter category. We see no shortage of wacky animal rescue stories here at Wide Open Spaces, but it's not often we see a story where an animal needed rescuing for two different things at the same time!
Good work on the rescue Atlantic City Electric!
