It's one thing to hook a nice muskie, it's quite another to watch one twice the size follow it right up to the boat.
Many times as anglers we've hooked a fish and watched one of the same species follow its buddy to our boat, wondering what all the hubbub was.
Here's a case of happy fishermen getting ready to boat a nice muskellunge, only to watch the one they really wanted glide by for a photo op.
Here's the monstrous video:
The guys reeling up the hooked fish thought the bigger one was trying to eat it, and that may be true, but it didn't really show any signs of aggression towards the hooked fish.
It may have been one of two that were hunting together and the bigger one was hoping to get in whatever the first one had attacked. It's possible that they were a spawning pair as well.
Whatever the case it sure seems like a typical fishing outing when we hook a nice one and the bigger one shows up to thumb its nose at us.
