Video Shows Hundreds of Elk Crossing a Highway

A rare sight captured hundreds of elk rushing across a Washington road.

Hundreds of elk migrate across a major road near Ellensburg, Washington. The elk are filmed running full speed across the highway in a herd of several hundred.

This site truly is quite incredible.

Watch the video below:

The Washington elk were videoed near the Puget Sound Energy's Wild Horse and Solar Facility. The large wind turbines are visible in the background of the video.

This time of year, elk herds winter or migrate to different elevations, and this video captures the herd of elk in central Washington doing just that. The large herd consisted of both cows and bull elk. Hunting season has all but come to a close. Elk populations are thriving throughout the western United States, as well as other regions of North America.
