Video: It's Lights Out for This Unlucky Bluegill, Quite Literally

You know it's a bad day to be a bluegill when...

Cameras have given us the ability to capture rare screenshots of life in the underwater world. In the following Aqua-Vu clip, we're given a first-hand glimpse at the everyday struggle these bluegills face to simply stay alive.

Anglers captured this footage during a February ice fishing trip. However, what appears to just be a school of bluegills crowding around a jig is quickly overshadowed by a hungry predator looming in the shadows.

At least this bluegill's demise was quick.

This ravenous northern pike absolutely blitzed this poor bluegill, which never saw it coming. Then again, that probably isn't a bad thing.

It's most definitely a fish-eat-fish world down there.
