Man Shoots Car Engine Until It Stops Running

How well do you think a 1993 Ford Escort will stand up to gunfire?

If you haven't heard of Demolition Ranch by now, you have to be living under a rock. Matt Carriker has made quite the name for himself on YouTube, largely because of the extreme experiments he tries with firearms.

We've seen him test various firearms against a ton of different objects, but this is one of the cooler ideas he's had. In this video, he takes a diverse group of guns to a 1993 Ford Escort he picked up for $500.

As you can see from the thumbnail, it does end with a .50 BMG. However, you'll definitely be surprised at how tough this little car is!

How many shots did you think it would take? Honestly, I was thinking two or three, tops.

Plus, could you have asked for a more dramatic finish? First it absorbs a whole bunch of shots like it's nothing, initially only suffering a busted radiator. Then, after surviving the first .50-caliber bullet, it finally kicks to the next, but not instantly. Not only does it sputter a whole bunch before finally stopping, but when he goes to turn it back on, it turns over and starts running again!

That, of course, is the cue for Carriker to unload 10 more .50-caliber bullets in the same direction, which officially killed the Escort for good.

Not only did I think a couple smaller-caliber bullets would do the trick, but I thought for sure the .50 BMG would've been an instant finish.

This is one of the many perks of having as much land as Carriker does. How many people can take an old beaten-up car that's worth nothing and shoot guns at it for the heck of it?
