Because chasing a polar bear away seems like a sane thing to do, right?
We've highlighted a wide range of morons here at Wide Open Spaces. From the one guy who thought it'd be cool to wrestle an 11-point buck to other who tried dressing up as a T-Rex to play patty-cake with a full-grown alligator, we've seen it all.
So now, we come to July's well-deserving recipient of our monthly award. This one is guaranteed to leave you shaking your head in disbelief.
Let me set the scene. Here we have a wildlife photographer with a camera on a tripod in the most beautiful but desolate of places, capturing images of an approaching polar bear.
Did we mention he's also dressed in pure white?
Watch in disbelief as the man behind the camera casually shoos this polar bear away when it gets to close.
Here's something to think about: the polar bear is the most carnivorous of the bear species. Their attacks are more often predatory and are almost always fatal. They can also happen in the blink of an eye.
While this appears to be a younger bear, that doesn't change the fact it would still tear this photographer to shreds.
There's a reason polar bear photo tours are always done from the safety of a reinforced, high-off-the-ground ice buggy.
Another month, another deserving moron.
