Turn Some Plain Old White Fish into "Poor Man's Lobster"

Poor man's lobster is the perfect recipe for white fish.

With spring fishing seasons in full swing, many anglers are already hitting the water. Many are bringing home their catches and are likely wondering how to prepare them. Maybe you've gone through all the usual recipes already and are looking for something new.

Have you ever heard of "poor man's lobster?"

This is a way to simulate the texture of lobster or crab using ordinary white fish and it is so easy that even a child could do it. Check it out.

In case you missed it, all you need are some lemons, a cup of sugar and a large pot to boil it all in. Cut the white fish into pieces and drop it in the pot. The pieces will sink. Wait for them to pop to the surface, then coat them with more lemon juice and add lemon pepper or other seasonings and enjoy.

It doesn't get much easier than that to prepare a fish dinner. This recipe requires only a few ingredients that you likely already have in the home. It also requires very little preparation to make a new and unique dish the whole family will enjoy. This is a good one to keep in the back of your mind during the spring walleye and crappie seasons.

It just goes to show that with a little creativity, you can find a new way to enjoy your catch every season. Now excuse us while we head to the lake, we want to make this recipe for dinner!
