Tracking Collars on Deer in Canada Are Causing Issues

Some deer aren't reacting well to their tracking collars, causing local folks to worry.

A video from Saint-Quentin, New Brunswick, has garnered some attention across the internet and news outlets. It shows a deer with some serious chafing from his tracking collar.

The collar looks very uncomfortable for this particular deer, but according to the biologist, the deer shouldn't experience any serious issues.

There are approximately 80 deer with tracking collars in the area. Of that sample, only a few have shown irritation.

The study is exploring the where the deer spend the winters and summers, as well as their general range.
