Watch: Elk Flattens Truck Tire After Being Harassed By the Driver

The Elk, in fact, did want to "go" and took the win.

Far too many people wander out into nature every year who have no idea of proper outdoor etiquette. They pay no attention to Leave No Trace Principles and, even worse, they harass wildlife, endangering their lives and those of the animals.

What's more frustrating is when you see videos of irresponsible or stupid behavior, and the violator ends up getting away without suffering any consequences for their actions. Well, we're happy to report that a video submitted to the infamous Instagram account Tourons of Yellowstone isn't like that. In fact, it depicts one of those rare cases where someone messes around with nature and finds out why that's a bad idea.

This short clip shows a first-person view from the driver side of a pickup truck. The driver pulls up alongside a bull elk on the road and muses, "Watch out buddy, you want to fight?" He then rolls down his window and asks the elk directly, "You want to go, bud?" What happens next is sweet poetic justice as the elk lowers his head and spikes the truck's tire with his antlers. You need to have the sound on to hear the satisfying "hiss" as air leaves the tire immediately. In short, the elk did want to go, and he won.

Someone in the comments suggests that this video should be shown on a loop at the entrance to national parks, and we like that idea a lot. If you listen closely all the way to the end of the clip, you hear the woman sitting in the passenger seat say the tires on this truck were brand new. That just makes it even better. Here's hoping the cost of repairs will be a lesson to never harass an elk ever again.

Really, this is the ideal touron incident: No one was hurt except for a tire, and there's probably little chance the two humans involved will ever harass wildlife again.
