Minn Kota and Humminbird have created a new online series to highlight the benefits of the One-Boat Network.
What do you get when you combine eight skilled and experienced anglers, a dream bass fishing destination, and one of the most complete, tech-driven, fish-finding networks ever created?
The first episode of Minn Kota and Humminbird's new online series, One Boat Challenge. The debut was released March 19, but we got a sneak peek a couple weeks ago during an exclusive event held in conjunction with the Bassmaster Classic in Birmingham, Alabama.
What's cool about this show is its promotional efforts seem natural and unobtrusive, unlike some other attempts by outdoor brands these days. It's a legitimately entertaining piece of content, it builds interest in its cast, makes you want to see the outcome, and includes an incredible giveaway on top of it all.
IN other words, it makes fishing even cooler than it already is.
Each Thursday at 3:00 p.m. a new episode will air on www.OneBoatChallenge.com, with the culmination ending in a winning team and a donation to their fishing charity of choice.
But best of all, viewers and anglers everywhere have an amazing opportunity to win nearly ALL the gear used by contestants in the show, including a Humminbird SOLIX fish finder, a Minn Kota Ultrex trolling motor, and a Minn Kota Talon shallow water anchor.
While you drool over the chance to win those prizes, watch Episode 1 of the One-Boat Challenge, called "Opening Ceremony," and see what the anglers can catch on Lake El Salto in Mexico.
If you ask us, that's a cool introductory example of what this series of challenges is going to be like. The ups and downs of the competition are going to be well worth following!
And if there's anything that would encourage you to get out fishing with this kid of gear, it's an awesome online series.
Here's a quick rundown of all the competitors in the two-angler teams taking on the One Boat Challenge:
Bass Fishing YouTuber
Striped Bass Guide
Ashley Nichole Lewis
Salmon and Steelhead Guide
Salmon and Steelhead Guide
Inshore Fly Fisherman
NFL Defensive End
By the looks of it, they'll be fishing some uncharted territories, putting their technical savvy to the test, and really focusing in on the key features of a One-Boat Network that can make actual differences in your luck on the water.
When you make such advanced fishing gear, like Minn Kota and Humminbird have become known for, the only way to really make it better is to help it work together. That's what the One Boat Network is all about, and watching fishermen and women learn how to use it, then apply it to catching fish, is a treat.
Will you be watching along with us? The next episode, titled "Go Time," will air on the One Boat Challenege website (as well as Minn Kota's YouTube channel) on March 26, with two more to be released on the next two following Thursdays.
