These Awesome Military Vehicles Are Making the Long Road Home

From the military - to a movie set - to your garage!

You may have missed Martha Raddatz' New York Times best-selling book, but hopefully you didn't miss The Long Road Home's premier on National Geographic TV.

This eight-episode mini-series (which earned 7.5/10 stars on IMDb, by the way) depicts the true events of what our soldiers and families went through on "Black Sunday," when a small platoon of soldiers from the 1st Cavalry Division was ferociously ambushed in Sadr City, Baghdad, in April 2004.

Eight Americans would make the ultimate sacrifice that day, and more than 65 would be seriously wounded.

GovPlanet proudly worked with NatGeo TV to supply the necessary vehicles to make this series as accurate as possible; and is now offering these vehicles for sale to the public!

Humvees and Light Medium Tactical Vehicles that were used in filming will be sold with Certificates of Authenticity detailing the vehicle, as well as official signatures from GovPlanet and a Producer.

For those of you seeking a piece of military history, and not just cinematic history, GovPlanet holds an online auction every Wednesday, selling hundreds of previously owned Government and Military vehicles.
