The Ford Mustang is Celebrating 54 Years of the Iconic Pony Car

April 17th was Ford Mustang Day, and Ford released a pair of videos celebrating the car's 54-year history.

The Ford Mustang made its big debut on April 17, 1964 at the New York World's Fair, and the pony car has been an American icon ever since. To mark the occasion, Ford put together a couple videos showing the evolution of the six Mustang generations as well as the passion of Mustang owners.

When most people think of a Ford Mustang, they probably picture the original 1965 or some variation of the early first-gen cars, but through the years, there have been many different designs over the years - the first-gen (1965-1973) alone changed almost yearly! Check out the "Through The Years" video showing the evolution of Ford's iconic Mustang.

Of course, a car without passionate owners is just another car. And the Ford Mustang built generations of enthusiasts thanks to a mix of sporty styling and affordable performance. The latter is true whether you're talking about a '65 Mustang (which started under $2,500 in 1964) or a new 2018 Mustang that you can buy for slightly more than $25,000.
