Secretary Ryan Zinke Installed a "Big Buck Hunter" Video Game at the Department of the Interior

Secretary Zinke says game helps highlight sportsman contributions.

In one of the odder hunting news stories of the past week, Secretary of the Interior Ryan Zinke installed a Big Buck Hunter arcade game in the employee cafeteria at the U.S. Department of the Interior.

He broke the news in a tweet on Tuesday and went on to post a series of photos of employees playing the game in what he called #ShotgunShowdown.

Apparently the game is a hit with staff, as he posted more photos of himself and employees playing throughout the week. He said the game is a bigger part of raising awareness of sportsman contributions to conservation.

Zinke has also dedicated time this week to sharing Department of the Interior employees' hunting and fishing memories on the web. It's been a busy week of promoting hunting and fishing as a whole, as he declared October National Hunting and Fishing Month Thursday.

Originally from Montana, Zinke has been something of a controversial figure as secretary of the interior. He has promised to open up more public lands to hunting and fishing.

But he has also received criticism for his support of drilling for oil and gas on public lands. Back in March, he overturned a ban on lead ammunition in wildlife refuges.
