Rider Almost Dies After Being Flung From Horse in the Water

A rider almost died after being flung from her horse while in the water. The animal stumbled while in the water, slinging her from her harness.

"Well, it was not that horrible, actually. My horse just tripped in the water, and it came out of the blue for me, so I fell off directly in front of her," Anna Becker told People. "My horse tried her best not to step on me."

A misstep caused the animal to lose its balance and sling Becker forward. At one moment, she was concerned that the horse might step on her and crush her. The incident was captured on camera and uploaded to TikTok with the caption "when my horse randomly decided it was my time."

But it wasn't Becker's time. She managed to escape with just some minor injuries. "I only got some scratches and small bruises on my ribs," she explains. "I'm completely fine today."

The video drew a lot of reactions from people online.
One wrote, "Girl are you okay[?] This could've literally killed you."
Another wrote, "I think that's the only reason she's ok. It actually looks like [she] felt her and didn't put his full weight on."

Riding horses can be fun and exciting, but it can also be dangerous. A horse isn't a car after all. They're animals with their own thoughts and feelings. They can easily get spooked and put you in danger as a rider.

According to PennState Extension, "Horses are sensitive to movements, smell, touch, sounds, and sights. They have survived because of their ability to quickly recognize and respond to danger. This ability generates both advantages and disadvantages when handling.  Horses respond to what they recognize as dangerous objects or situations by fleeing, fighting the threat, and/or bunching together. This is called the "flight or fight" response."
