Polaris Set to Give Away Some Great Prizes for National Get Outdoors Day

Polaris Off-Road is hoping to get more people outside for National "Get Outdoors Day" on June 11 through a special promotion called "Bet on a Sunny Day," in which riders can win some rather substantial prizes and help contribute to conservation at the same time.

The off-road company has partnered with the Weather Channel to identify the 10 cloudiest cities in the United States. Polaris is betting Saturday, June 11 will be a sunny day in those 10 select cities, and participants can vote with or against the powersports giant by sharing how they are getting outside and getting their nature fix using the hashtag #THINKOUTSIDE. Those betting with Polaris will be designated "Team Sunny," while those betting on clouds are on "Team Cloudy." On the line is the chance to win prizes like an all expenses paid trip for a Polaris RZR or Slingshot ride at the winner's choice of location. They are also offering a free membership to Polaris Adventures Select. Other winners may receive things like sunglasses, mugs, and new riding helmets.

Polaris Adventures Select is a subscription-based membership program where users get member credits for riding with participating outfitters across the country. This includes a free first tank of gas, unlimited mileage, and all the necessary safety gear for riders. Polaris developed the program as an option for riders who want the thrill of powersports, but don't want the hassles of storage or maintenance. It's also an option for people new to off-roading to get their feet wet without committing to the investment of a new vehicle. Everyone who picks the correct winning team will be entered into the grand prize drawing and will also receive a 10 percent off discount on the program. The 10 cities where you will need to predict sun or shade are as follows:

  • Youngstown, Ohio
  • Detroit, Michigan
  • Syracuse, New York
  • Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
  • Seattle, Washington
  • Fort Wayne, Indiana
  • Newark, New Jersey
  • Washington D.C.
  • Chicago, Illinois
  • Louisville, Kentucky

Aside from being entered for prizes, this is a chance to give back to conservation too. Polaris will donate $2 for each of the first 5,000 participants in the contest regardless of which team they pick. This money will be donated to the Conservation Fund, a non-profit responsible for protecting 8.5 million acres of wilderness and counting in their 37-year history. Polaris' Chief Customer Growth Officer, Pam Kermisch said in a press release that Get Outdoors Day seemed like a perfect fit for this contest.

"For those interested in outdoor adventure, consider spending the day driving a Polaris RZR or a Slingshot or cruising on a Bennington pontoon boat. Whether it's in your own vehicle or one you rent at a Polaris Adventures outfitter, these are exciting, fun ways to enjoy the outdoors with friends and family," Kermisch said in the press release.
